Global automotive supplier TRW Automotive has revealed that Colleen Hanley has joined the company as director of Global Communications.

Hanley is to be based at TRW headquarters in Livonia, Michigan, and will report directly to Peter Lake, executive vice president of Sales and Business Development. She will be responsible for developing the company’s global internal and external communications strategy and will also serve as the firm’s key spokesperson with all major media audiences.

In joining TRW, Hanley left her role of vice president of marketing, communications and government affairs for CareTech Solutions, a healthcare IT services company. She also brings with her experience from the automotive industry where she held many communications-related positions at ArvinMeritor and EDS.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Hanley holds a Bachelor’s degree in communication and a Master’s in advertising. She is also the 2013 Communicator of the Year as honored by the International Association of Business Communicator's Detroit chapter.

TRW is one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers, recording sales of $17.4 billion in 2013 and present in 24 countries across the globe and employer of around 65,000 people.

Its major products include include integrated vehicle control and driver assist systems, braking systems, steering systems, suspension systems, occupant safety systems (seat belts and airbags), electronics, engine components, fastening systems and aftermarket replacement parts and services.
