Most popular Halloween candy
If there’s one place in the world which does Halloween correctly, it’s the United States. As such, here is our list of the most popular American seasonal sweets for trick-or-treaters to enjoy:
Wonka Pixy Stix
A classic choice: adults love them because they’re cheap, and children love them because they provide a swift hit in a single mouthful of colourful sugar. These straws filled with sherbet are the perfect solution to padding out the trick-or-treat bowl.
You either love candy corn or you hate it. Regardless, the distinctive little caramel-tasting kernels are a must-have for Halloween especially, and ideal for filling mini cauldrons at your party.
Pumpkins appear to cause less division, despite claims that they taste the same as candy corn and have a similar texture. They are undoubtedly more Halloweeny, and enable an even greater sugar rush as the gourds are so much bigger.
While available all year round, Nerds enjoy a boost in sales around Halloween. The company commences selling Spooky Nerds and Monster Potions in preparation for the holiday, but all Nerds are created equal for the adults buying them.
The ever-popular Butterfinger is ideal for trick-or-treaters, since they can be bought fun-size in bulk. Kids adore the crunchy treats too.
Lindor Jack-O-Lantern Truffles
Generally thought of as a grown-up chocolate, Lindor shows its fun side every year with the release of its Jack-O-Lantern truffles. They are the classic Lindt milk chocolate truffles with a milk chocolate centre, but if that’s not spooky enough, Lindor also makes a pumpkin spice version of its standard truffles.
Peeps ghosts, pumpkins, and tombstones
Peeps are ideal for causing sticky fingers and a rapid sugar rush, and the company goes all-out at Halloween with ghost, pumpkin, and tombstone-shaped marshmallows.
Jolly Rancher Caramel Apple lollipops
Jolly Ranchers are perfect sweet bowl fillers anyway, but these caramel apple flavoured lollies are even better for getting into the spirit. Plus, they’re slightly easier on the teeth than the average chewy sweet.
