JLT Mobile Computers, a leading developer of demanding-environment computers, has been selected by Volvo Car Body Components to supply its Verso + 10 computers for use in the company’s Olofström plant located in Sweden.
Volvo plans to install the computers to its factory-located forklifts to enable greater control and connectivity within them.
“When the customer, Volvo Car Body Components, was about to select IT equipment for their production facility in Olofström, Sweden, they requested a solution that was designed to withstand the toughest operating conditions,” said Per Redenius, Key Account Manager at Idnet, the sales partner of JLT.
“We advised them to choose JLT Mobile Computers because we are confident that the rugged computers they develop and supply will provide years of trouble-free service.”
JLT claims that the Verso + 10 stands out from its competitors due to its integration of the latest technology, despite having the smallest rugged form factor.
The system uses an intel quad core processor, running the latest version of 64-bit Windows on a compact 10.4-inch scratch-resistance capacitive touch screen, ideal for tight forklift cabins.
The deal marks the first engagement between Volvo and JLT, positioning both companies for future collaboration and trade agreements in the future.
