The Birmingham-based engineering firm has announced that it plans to create 500 new jobs within 30 specialist disciplines.

adi Group has revealed its five-year plan in a bid to organically more than double its turnover, from its current level of £82m (US$113.73mn) to £200mn ($277mn).

In order to meet its target, the firm aims to almost double its workforce in order to service blue chip clients -  such as Cadbury, Coca-Cola, and BAE Systems.

The company was founded in 1990 and five years later it was employing 18 engineers, which then doubled by 2000.

Following the new members of staff, adi Group saw turnover increase by almost seven times as much, from £12mn ($16.6mn) to £82mn.

The firm also noted  a surge in ranks between 2008 and 2018, from 370 to 630.
