Kris Harrison confirmed for the Young Engineering Professionals Conference 2016

Kris Harrison, the Head of Lean Engineering for the UK and Italy at Selex ES, has been confirmed to speak at the annual a one-day Young Engineering Professionals Conference 2016 on 28 April. Kris has championed tirelessly to encourage young women to pursue the path of engineering, and was awarded the Women in Stem and Engineering Inspiring Young Women Award in 2015 for her work with schools in Luton.

She will be one of the many speakers present at the annual event which is organized by BEAMA, BSI, GAMBICA and the IET. It focuses on the future of engineering and promoting multi-disciplinary working to reach shared goals. Join the other young engineers on the day in discussing the societal challenges facing the engineering sector and exploring how the ‘Internet of Things’ might resolve various aspects such as:

• Smart Cities - Graham Colclough, Urban DNA / Peter Cooper, Research Engineer - Smart Cities, Intelligent Property, Corporate Strategy, Arup
• Smart Health - Charles Lowe, Managing Director at the Digital Health and Care Alliance (DHACA)
• Smart Transport - Tim Gammons, Director of Smart Mobility and Intelligent Transport Solutions, Arup

There will also be opportunities to interact with other engineers on career and professional issues. Attendees will learn how they can influence the future of the UK engineering sector by actively contributing to the development of industry standards.
