Leadership Lab is set up to provide women in manufacturing with vital learning opportunities

American assosications Women in Manufacturing (WiM) and Case Western Reserve University’s (CWRU) Weatherhead School of Management have announced the creation of a Leadership Lab for Women in Manufacturing, providing essential education and guidance for WiM members in managerial manufacturing roles.

Launching later this year, the course will be split into three sessions across eight days covering various topics, including: Women in Manufacturing: Bias Barriers and Opportunities, High-Impact Leadership for Women in Manufacturing, and Skills and Strategies for Leading the Way Forward in Manufacturing.

The Leadership Lab for Women in Manufacturing programme comes hot on the heels of CWRU’s previous success with the Leadership Lab for Women in STEM, created in 2014 to help women in male-dominated occupations develop leadership skills. The programme is supported by the GE foundation, the funding of which will allow even women in small-to-mid-sized companies to take part.

The WiM has over 550 members and continually allows female manufacturing employees new and significant learning opportunities aimed at supporting them and furthering their careers.
