Fujistu has announced that it will be extending IT management services for Bridgestone Europe, helping to further develop the world’s largest tyre and rubber company’s digital transformation. This will ensure Bridgestone is able to concentrate on delivering innovation in core business areas as it outsources key services to Fujitsu.

The two businesses are taking a collaborative approach to this partnership, with Fujistu supporting Bridgestone’s IT strategy to ensure a service which delivers high value and aligns with its specific requirements.

Fujistu will continue to provide Bridgestone’s IT requirements until at least 2018, when an optional extension will be available. The services provided include a multilingual service desk, on-site and remote support for IT workplaces and equipment, managed print services, service integration, application hosting, and operations. All of Bridgestone Europe’s SAP systems are hosted and operated by Fujitsu.

Michael Johnson, Vice President of IT at Bridgestone Europe, commented: “Our corporate philosophy, the Bridgestone Essence, focuses on delivering world class products and solution services to our customers. By collaborating with Fujitsu for the ongoing transformation of our IT infrastructure, we can strike the optimum balance between short term benefits and long term gain. Furthermore, this contract means that we can direct all our energy and expertise into developing innovative solutions that will keep us at the forefront of our industry.”

Duncan Tait, SEVP and Head of EMEIA and Americas Region at Fujitsu, added: “By partnering with companies like Bridgestone Europe, we are enabling them to focus on their core business goals and embrace new opportunities – using their underlying IT infrastructure as a business enabler. We see this renewal as a seal of approval for Fujitsu from Bridgestone Europe, which continues to entrust us to manage its entire IT infrastructure”
