Several manufacturing plants across the Bridgestone EMIA network will slowly begin to resume and ramp up production, as business and customer demands continue.

All of Bridgestone’s plants in Spain and Russia have resumed full production, with its passenger tyre plant in Bari, Italy, and the retreading site in Lanklaar, Belgium, also expected to be reopened by the end of April. Factories in Poland and Hungary have been operational throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, running at a reduced capacity. Whilst these factories continue to respond to customer needs, there is no plan in place to reopen the Bridgestone facilities located in India, France and South Africa.

As demand trends in several key market segments for Bridgestone EMIA continue to increase, including OEM passenger tyres and the commercial sector, it is clear to see why the factories are beginning to reopen. Bridgestone EMIA is ensuring it provides adequate supply to its customers and partners with fluctuation in mind by staying in constant, close contact with everyone involved.

Whilst meeting customer and client demands is essential, nothing is quite as important as the health and safety of Bridgestone’s employees. To ensure this, Bridgestone EMIA is closely following the guidance set out by health authorities in regards to social distancing, whilst also taking appropriate preventative measures to protect employees from occupational hazards.

The company continues to closely follow the advice from the CDC and WHO as it develops around the world, even implementing thorough procedures and checklists throughout its facilities to ensure workplace safety.
