The Danish jewellery manufacturer, PANDORA, has set the target to double its production capacity from a 2015 base-level by the end of next year.
In order to achieve its goal, the company will implement software provided by Quintiq, a Dassault Systèmes subsidiary.
The product planning solution will be implementing in the world’s largest jewellery manufacturer’s – by production volume – three Thailand facilities.
95% of PANDORA’s jewellery was produced in the country last year, making it the target location for increased production capacity and supply chain planning.
“With Quintiq’s advanced planning system supporting our capacity expansion program, we will be able to scale up manufacturing capacity, increase our efficiency and increase agility to satisfy the demands of our valued customers,” commented Thomas Touborg, SVP Group Operations of PANDORA.
The firm has 7,800 points of sale across 100 countries, and added 376 concept stores across the world last year.
PANDORA annually produces more than 120,000 pieces of jewellery in about 1,500 designs, whilst introducing at least 500 new designs per year.
“We are proud to work with a global brand like PANDORA,” stated the CEO of Quintiq, Rob van Egmond.
“Quintiq will support PANDORA’s growth and market ambitions with a solution that aligns with its lean production efforts and can scale up to meet increasing demand,” he added.
“We are confident that PANDORA will soon be reaping the business benefits of its strategic capacity expansion program.”
