The American airplane manufacturer, Boeing, has partnered with Adient, the automotive seat maker, to create the joint venture Adient Aerospace.

The joint venture will develop, manufacturer, and sell a range of aircraft seats to airlines and aircraft leasing companies.

The seating will be available to both new aircrafts as well as being made as retrofit configurations for older Boeing models and other commercial airplane manufacturers.

The two companies claim their partnership will address the industries need for more capacity, superior quality, and reliable on-time performance.

“Seats have been a persistent challenge for our customers, the industry and Boeing, and we are taking action to help address constraints in the market,” stated Kevin Schemm, Senior Vice President for Supply Chain Management, Finance and Business Operations, and Chief Financial Officer for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
