Jabil, the Florida based manufacturing company, has announced an agreement with the Renault F1 team to develop and deliver 3D printed parts for its current race car.
The demands placed upon the Renault R.S. 19, which is competing in this year’s Formula One World Championship, seem to be a natural fit for the strengths of 3D printing, namely reducing weight while maintaining strength. Jabil said that through their manufacturing network, Renault would be able to gain fast and efficient access to top quality parts.

The announcement came alongside news of developments in the company’s additive manufacturing network. Now with more than 200 3D printers from manufacturers such as Desktop Metal, EOS, Farsoon, HP and Ultimaker spread across the world, Jabil’s additive manufacturing capabilities are extended by the use of Jabil Engineered Materials, their custom polymer formulations and compounds.
