The Germany-based multinational conglomerate, Siemens, has submitted plans for a new £200mn ($258mn) train factory in Goole which is set to create around 700 jobs in the English town, according to Hull Live.

Set to create around 90 new tube trains for London’s Piccadilly Line, the high-tech facility will take up approximately a 104-acre site on the Goole 36 Enterprise Zone.

It has been revealed that the plans have been submitted to East Riding Council for the factory which is anticipated to be in full operation by 2025.

“It’s the result of positive dialogue with the local authority, statutory bodies and other stakeholders, including community representatives.”

Upon approval, the factory would include 80,000sq.m of manufacturing, warehouse buildings, commissioning and stabling sidings.
