Lean Manufacturing & Data Action with Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management enables actionable insights for manufacturers, encouraged by a study from AWS and Frost & Sullivan

Data is one of the most vital industrial resources, yet a recent study by AWS and Frost & Sullivan shows fewer than 5% of plant data is transformed into any actionable insight. Now, more manufacturers are calling for answers to scale operational value at their sites.

Schneider Electric’s new EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management collects data across industrial operations, in order to develop KPIs for short interval management meetings, where manufacturers can carefully observe production cycles, prevent problems and take action to avoid complications.

Digital collaboration and efficiency with EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management

EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management offers a collaborative interface which digitises and optimises SIM meeting cycles, across sites. It collects Information Technology and Operational Technology data for KPIs on productivity, safety, sustainability and more, with access data that’s on-site or remote. Users can visualise issues in real time and digitally track preventative and corrective actions until fully resolved.

Using Schneider Electric’s experience in lean manufacturing, the EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management technology is employed by more than 70,000 operators, many in Schneider Electric’s smart factories. There are a range of benefits:

  • 5% operational efficiency improvement
  • Greater safety on the factory floor
  • 33% reduction in shift handover activities
  • Digital transformation which is scalable
  • Top cyber security on the IIoT platform.

Ali Haj Fraj, Senior Vice President for the Digital Factory Line of Business at Schneider Electric, is excited to see how this will support workers.

“EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management unlocks the potential for industrial enterprises to scale operational value across multiple sites,” said Fraj. “Now workers have direct access to plant and supply chain information, enabling real-time decision-making and issue resolution capabilities that truly enhance productivity. Removing the reliance on proof of concepts will be the catalyst to a successful digital transformation strategy.”

“Our software manages shop floor teams, machines, and processes, dispatching work and collecting data,” added Harpreet Gulati, Senior Vice President for Planning, Simulation and Optimisation Business at AVEVA. “EcoStruxure Plant Lean Management layers on improvements, driving manufacturing performance, powering faster issue escalation, decision-making, and problem solving. Together, we provide greater value to customers.”
