The German engineering firm, Bosch Rexroth, is one of many companies demonstrating machine monitoring and screw solutions.
The solutions from the cloud are used to support a pay-per-use assembly solution, also adapted by iTAC and OpenText.
Bosch Rexroth has developed a radio cordless screwdriver with an intelligence controlling system, allowing the technology to be communicated with online, as well as supplying and receiving data.
The screwdriver is also plug-and-play ready for Industry 4.0-conform services, and can create standardised data with its unique identification that scanners can read.
The IoT solution is based on an ecosystem incorporating ERP, MES, and BI solutions with Nexo technology.
Due to the Nexo features of the devise, a pay-per-use application scenario was was built in a real just-in-sequence assembly cell at the Accenture IIoT Innovation Centre.
The scenario, set up as a steering wheel assembly, demonstrates how the screwdriver supports the process of assembling.
Through interlocking mechanisms, the screwdriver is able to provide its own data, allowing the assembly process to automatically stop by the iTAC.MES.Suite if done incorrectly.
